About Us

Promoting area in the McAlester Area for 50 years.

The McAlester Area Arts & Humanities Council will promote the general welfare of the arts in the McAlester Area though the support and encouragement of the resources, activities and talents of the various arts organizations, through educational activities which encourage cultural activities and promote greater knowledge and appreciation of the fine arts, and through the creation of the common forum for those individuals and organizations who have assumed the responsibilities of presenting and advancing the arts and humanities in the McAlester Area.

The McAlester Area Arts & Humanities Council was formed in 1975 by Wanda Bass.

Brenda Angel ND, PhD.

Angel is an Artist who has been featured on TV and in print.  She has been interviewed on the 700 Club, Charisma Magazine Online, Epoch Times, News Week, news papers from across the country, International magazines, television shows and radio programs.  Her sculptures have been featured in shows from New York City to San Antonio, Texas. She enjoys living on her two Arce farm with critters galore, and art projects to explore. She is currently working on a full-length animated film.  She will be releasing her line of children’s books soon.  She loves life and enjoys the journey.  She is a volunteer in her local community and enjoys finding and excavating dinosaurs on the museum’s dig team.  One of Angel’s bronze sculptures was on display at The White House for 6 years and was then moved to the Smithsonian National Collection Museum in Washington DC, where it is on display and has been for more than 15 years.
